General
Is your service really free?
Yes. Partner schools pay us a fee when a student we refer enrols. You pay the school's normal price and nothing to us.
Are you a flight school?
No. We are an independent placement service. Your training, pricing and certificates come from the partner school you choose.
How do you choose your partner schools?
We check FAA approval, SEVP certification for international students, fleet and instructor availability, pricing transparency and student support. See how we vet schools.
Do I have to choose a school you recommend?
No. There is no obligation. Our job is to give you good options and honest information.
Costs and funding
How much does flight training cost?
It depends on the programme, the school, the aircraft and how quickly you train. Our cost guide explains what to budget for, and we give you real figures for each school on your shortlist.
How can I pay for training?
Common options are self-funding, specialist flight training loans and school payment plans. We help you understand total costs and what is available before you commit.
Will I pay more by coming through you?
No. You pay the school's standard price.
US students
Do I need to move to train?
Not necessarily. Some students train locally; others relocate to an accelerated programme in a good-weather state. We compare both.
Can I train part-time around work?
Yes. Many Part 61 schools offer flexible scheduling. Training full-time is usually faster and can work out cheaper overall.
What medical certificate do I need?
You need an FAA medical certificate from an Aviation Medical Examiner. If you want an airline career, get a first-class medical before you start, so you know there are no surprises.
International students
Which visa do I need?
Most international student pilots train on an M-1 visa. You need an I-20 from an SEVP-certified school before you can apply. We only recommend schools that can issue one.
What is TSA approval?
Every student who is not a US citizen must be approved through the TSA Flight Training Security Program before starting flight training. We explain the process and timing.
Can I work while I train?
M-1 students have very limited work rights. Some may apply for a short period of practical training after completing their course. Plan to fund your living costs for the whole programme.
Can you help with housing?
Yes. Some partner schools offer student housing; for others we help you find options nearby before you arrive.
After training
Will I get a pilot job?
No one can honestly guarantee a job. Most new commercial pilots build hours as flight instructors before moving to airlines. We can point you to schools that hire their own graduates as instructors.
